In the past, Compendium films have generally been limited to two sets in order to meet logistical requirements that come with a 12-Hour shoot day. Our particular story requires three-and-a-half sets. And we’re not taking that as a problem.
We like to look at it as a challenge – one that we’re acutely aware of. Instead of shying away from it and trying to reduce the number of sets (and potentially cut down on story elements), we’re working hard with our director to come up with new, creative solutions on how we can keep all of our sets and story elements without risking having a logistic bomb being dropped on us.
Creating corners instead of whole rooms and swinging camera angles to give things a whole new perspective are just some of the tricks up our sleeves! Takeaway lesson for this week: Filmmaking is cheating!
