Talking about sophistication? No, it has nothing to do with the way French people like to party. On our tech survey, Peter Marshall talked with Vince, our DoP, and discovered that flipping the cameras and set the lighting for the second pass will take a long time, a luxury that we do not have.

So Peter came up with the idea that we should do a “French Reverse”, a technique commonly used when dealing with time and/or set constrains. It basically consist on shooting always to the same side and instead of flipping the camera and lights we just flip the actors, adjust the angle in way we don’t break the 180 degree rule and change some details on the previous set background.

Sounds like an idea, isn’t it? Film production problem solving one on one!
